The Scan Group - About Us
The Scan Group is a wholly owned subsidiary of long-established New England software development company, AIS, Inc.
Recognizing the need to provide simple to use, reasonably priced pricebook control software for convenience stores with Gas Controllers, The Scan Group division was created to design such a product.
Based upon research and our extensive experience within the industry, we determined that not only did we need to create a low-cost, easy to use and maintain product, we also needed to overcome one of the major stumbling blocks to scanning - the creation of the initial UPC item file.
To fill this need, we created PRI*SCAN pricebook management software and addressed creation of the initial UPC file with our scan verify process (described in Services & Support.)
PRI*SCAN was in development and beta testing for more than 7 months, and was released in 2001. We now have several hundred customers in 42 states. In addition, we have developed add-on software modules that provide complete capture of sales and settlement information, manage product receiving and inventory, and maintain fuel inventory.
